Calleja Law participates in the ITechLaw Asia-Pacific Conference 2023

Consistent with Calleja Law’s commitment to keep with the times and stay ahead of legal developments in its areas of practice, the firm sent seven delegates to the recently concluded International Technology Law Asia Pacific Conference 2023 held from March 8-10, 2023 at Fullerton Hotel in Singapore.

Day 1 included a series of roundtable discussions among participants covering the various topics to be covered in Days 2 and 3 of the conference, capped by a networking session over cocktails as the sun was setting on the iconic Singapore skyline. CLO’s delegates shared their respective experiences and know-how with regard to the Philippine legal landscape with colleagues from around the globe.

Day 2 began with the opening of the exhibits, with CLO as one of the exhibitors. To kick off the sessions, the CEO of Singapore Space & Technology delivered the Keynote message, tickling the attendees’ imagination with all the exciting possibilities that recent advancements in science open for the legal community. The rest of the sessions included fireside chats on cybersecurity from a global perspective, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, and ESG and technology, eSports and Gaming.

Participants were thereafter welcomed to a gala reception and dinner at the historic Raffles Hotel.

Finally, the 3-day conference concluded with more sessions tackling the law of the metaverse, artificial intelligence, digitalization, social impact investments, latest developments on privacy laws, and media and content regulation.

Atty. Connie Jimenez-Aquino was recognized in the closing ceremony as part of the local planning committee, while CLO was recognized as one of the Gold Sponsors for the event.

Additionally, as a side trip from the ITech Law conference, CLO’s 7-member contingent visited the Google Asia Pacific Headquarters and were given a guided office tour by Google employees.
